Well, I'm pretty sick at this point, so I'm already doubting the likelihood I'll manage three comics next week. I'll try, but depending on how this goes, I may be lucky to get one done. In the meantime, today's new comic is slightly longer than usual, and it's one that I, at least, really like. Hope you enjoy it too!

Today's comic is a comic that has taken me somewhere between two and three years to make. It's not one of the most epic comics; it's probably not even one of the funniest. But it is special. I'm sure nobody remembers Adventures of Ak #196: Boys Like Girls, but from the moment I conceived that comic (about two years before its own production and internet debut, I might add), it was always one of my favorite individual comics because it was the culmination of all the "Charlie is a boy" jokes. That was one of the first AoA jokes ever conceived, thanks to Surber, who thought Charlie was a boy when he saw the first picture of her, and Boys Like Girls was always meant to be the punchline of that oft-repeated joke, when Charlie finally gets so fed up, she bares all to disprove the misconception. Well, since around the time that #196 was made, I had conceived of the whole Bizarro-World story-line, and since the moment I knew THAT was a place we were going, I knew I wanted to do THIS comic, AoA #340, which finds it's original inspiration in Boys Like Girls. Like its predecessor, #340 is now one of my favorite things to have done, and you have no idea how excited I am to finish it. Why do I tell you all this, you may ask? Well, the answer, is that I may sometimes complain about this work I have given to myself and I certainly often drag my feet on it, but make no mistake: This is a labor of love. I LOVE to make these comics; I LOVE telling stories. And I particularly love, love, love when a long time's work finally comes to fruition. To paraphrase Kevin Smith a bit, I love my art so much I would [frak] it in a Denny's bathroom. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Took last week off. No real excuse for that. But it felt like a week to take off. There will be another new comic tomorrow, on Thursday. It's already almost done. So be sure to come back and check that out; it's gonna be a good one!

Don't worry: We're about done with the complicated explanations for what the frak is going on after this installment. As we move toward #350, things are going to start picking back up, some funny stuff is going to happen, and we're going to learn something interesting about the sheep from the Black. Goodnight, all.

I'm tempted to say that today's new comic is indicative of a return to the days for new comics being Tuesday and Thursday. I'd like for those to be the days for new comics again. But I'm not really sure if I'll be able to keep it up for long. So we'll see. But for this week, at least, new comics on Tuesday and Thursday! There, where I said there would be another comic on Thursday... I meant Friday... It's Friday now, and there is another new comic. I've been kind of excited about this one for awhile, because it drops an important, if a bit confusing, bit of information concerning Ak that's going to play a big role in the overall story. Also, there's a bit of a puzzle in the title that I'd be excited if anyone figured out. But it's kind of obscure, so... Already at work on next week's comics too. I'm listening to some people with viewpoints different from my own speak while I work on it. It's... well, it's hard to explain why I do this. But I think it's good to know all points of view to be able to decide which is the one you believe in. Anyway, it's kind of getting my blood boiling a little bit. I recommend it, if you have the time and the temper for it. Youtube is nice for that. Hope you like the comic, more to come next week!

Once again, the comic is a day late. Sorry about that. I am going to try to get another one done for tomorrow, but it's unlikely it's gonna happen. Another new AoA. Also getting closer to beginning ydk's next new comic. I think I'm going to be changing a few things around the site before then, but it should all be happening soon-ish. I know: I thought 2012 was going to get off to a much better start than this... If you're looking for someone to blame for the lack of comics over the last few weeks, it is, of course, Skyrim's fault... Oh, I mean Steve's fault. And also Skyrim... I bought Skyrim a few weeks ago. And it has consumed me ever since. BUT, in an attempt to make up for the unplanned hiatus, today you get TWO new comics in one day! Granted, that's it for this week, but I'm still playing Skyrim (and Steve still exists), so consider yourselves lucky there's anything, maybe? Oh, also, I'm still working on AoA too, but I've begun production on a brand new comic that I'm very excited about. It will be coming... eventually. I predict March or at the latest April. That's all I'll tell you about it for now, though. Everything else is top secret! There will be new comics next week too! Until then, hope you like today's double-dose!

So I spent like a week watching the entire series (so far) of Community on Hulu. I love it. It's crazy and quirky and hilarious, and everyone needs to watch it (it NEEDS to not get cancelled!). I also got nice and ahead for once on comics, so it's looking good on me actually getting stuff done. Hope it stays that way, 'cuz I spent way too much of last year slacking. Today's new comic is sort of a second part to an installment of AoA that came up awhile back, in which Jeremy had a creepy dream. Kudos to whomever recognizes who Jeremy's dreaming about, by the way.

So last year didn't turn out to be as productive as I had hoped. I'm planning on working harder this year to do all the things I hope to do, including my first comics in print, while also keeping up with AoA better. So to start the year off right, here's AoA #324. The double-sized #325 should be online no later than early next week, but possibly sooner, so check back often!

Believe it or not, the comics (and other entertainment) here at ydk require a lot of time, effort, and money. It's not easy keeping it going. If you like what you see here, please help. Even a small amount can go a long way in producing more!
